Create a Bite
Every Bite starts with a screen recording. DemoBites gives you two ways to capture your screen, plus the option to upload an existing recording.

The fastest way to create a Bite. No downloads, no extensions — just click and record.
- 1Open the DemoBites dashboard and click "New Bite".
- 2Choose "Record Screen" from the creation menu.
- 3Select which screen, window, or browser tab to capture.
- 4Click "Start Recording" — a countdown gives you time to prepare.
- 5Perform your demo. Click "Stop" when you're done.
- 6The recording uploads automatically and processing begins.
What happens next
After recording, DemoBites automatically analyzes your screen content, generates an AI narration script, creates captions, and adds zoom effects. This takes about 30–60 seconds. When it’s done, you’ll land in the Bite Studio where you can fine-tune everything.
Chrome Extension
The Chrome Extension adds a powerful layer on top of screen recording: it captures your actual mouse interactions — clicks, scrolls, hovers — and transforms them into animated visual highlights in your final Bite.
This is especially useful for product walkthroughs where you want to guide the viewer’s eye to exactly where the action happens. Instead of just showing a static cursor, the extension creates pulse animations and click indicators that make your demos more engaging.
Upload a recording
Already have a screen recording? Upload it directly.
- 1Click "New Bite" → "Upload Video".
- 2Drag and drop your file or browse to select it.
- 3Processing begins automatically — same AI pipeline as recorded Bites.
Supported formats
MP4, WebM, MOV. Maximum file size depends on your plan. We recommend MP4 with H.264 encoding for best results.
Duration handling
Short recordings (under 90 seconds) go straight to Bite creation. Longer recordings are processed in the background — you’ll get a notification when they’re ready.
Recording best practices
A few tips to get better results from the AI processing:
Keep it short
15–90 seconds is the sweet spot. Focus on one feature or workflow per Bite.
Move deliberately
Slow, intentional mouse movements produce better zoom effects and clearer demos.
Clean your screen
Close unnecessary tabs and notifications. The AI reads your screen content for narration.
No need to narrate
DemoBites generates the voiceover automatically. Just perform the actions silently.
After recording
Once your recording is processed, you’ll be taken to the Bite Studio — the editing environment where you refine narration, adjust zoom, and polish your Bite before exporting.
