What is Expert?

Expert is an AI-powered knowledge base built entirely from your published bites. Viewers ask natural language questions and get accurate answers with direct video references — no manual FAQ writing required.

Overview

Every bite you publish is automatically analyzed and indexed. Expert uses this index to answer viewer questions with relevant video clips, timestamps, and context. Think of it as an always-available product specialist that knows everything you’ve ever recorded.

AI-powered, content-driven

Expert doesn’t hallucinate or make things up. It only answers based on what exists in your published bite library. If it can’t find a confident match, it tells the viewer honestly rather than guessing.

What Expert looks like

Here’s a preview of a typical Expert interaction. A viewer asks a question and gets a conversational answer with direct video references.

How do I set up integrations with my CRM?

DemoBites supports CRM integrations through the Settings panel. The video “Setting Up CRM Integration” walks through connecting Salesforce, HubSpot, and Pipedrive step by step, starting at the 0:15 mark.

You’ll need your API key from the CRM provider and admin access to your DemoBites workspace. The full walkthrough takes about 2 minutes.

How it works

Expert follows a straightforward pipeline from your content to viewer answers:

1

Publish bites

You create and publish bites as usual. No extra steps needed.

2

Automatic indexing

Every published bite is analyzed — transcript, topics, visual content, and timestamps are indexed into a searchable knowledge base.

3

Viewer asks a question

A viewer types a natural language question through Hub, Pulse, or the API.

4

Semantic search + AI answer

Expert searches the index, finds the most relevant bite segments, and generates a clear answer grounded in your actual content.

5

Answer with video references

The viewer receives a conversational answer with links to the specific bites and timestamps that support it.

What gets indexed

When you publish a bite, Expert automatically extracts and indexes the following:

  • Full transcript — every word spoken, including TTS narration and captions.
  • Topics and tags — the subject metadata associated with each bite.
  • Visual content — chapter titles, on-screen text, and scene context.
  • Timestamps — so answers link directly to the relevant moment in the video.
  • Bite metadata — title, description, and slug for generating source links.

Indexing is fully automatic. You don’t need to configure anything — just keep publishing bites, and Expert’s knowledge grows with your library.

Where Expert appears

Expert can surface answers across multiple channels. The same knowledge base powers all of them.

Hub

Embedded Q&A widget within your academy or help center Hub. Viewers ask questions directly alongside your bite library.

Pulse

Q&A panel inside the Pulse widget. Viewers can ask questions without leaving your product.

API

RESTful endpoint for integrating Expert into Zendesk, Intercom, and other tools. Scale plan required.

MCP

Model Context Protocol server for AI-native integrations with Claude, Cursor, and other MCP-compatible tools. Scale plan required.

30-bite minimum

Expert requires at least 30 published bites before it goes live for viewers. Below that threshold, the index is too thin to produce reliable answers, and most queries would return fallback messages.

While below the threshold, you can still configure and preview Expert in your dashboard. Once you cross 30 published bites, Expert becomes visible to viewers automatically across Hub, Pulse, and API surfaces.

Why 30? This is the point where the index reaches critical mass — enough coverage that Expert can confidently handle the majority of questions your viewers are likely to ask. Read more in Minimum published bites.
