What is Expert?
Expert is an AI-powered knowledge layer that makes your existing AI agents smarter by giving them access to your video knowledge. Connect Intercom Fin, Zendesk AI, Salesforce Agentforce, Claude, or any AI agent, and they can answer questions using your published bites.
Overview
Every bite you publish is automatically analyzed and indexed. External AI agents query this index through Expert’s MCP server or REST API and receive structured results, video titles, URLs, transcript segments, and timestamps. Your agents synthesize these into natural answers for their users.
Knowledge layer, not a chatbot
Expert doesn’t replace your AI agents, it makes them smarter. Your agents handle the conversation; Expert provides the video knowledge they need to answer accurately. No hallucination, no guessing, only answers grounded in your actual content.
How it works
Expert follows a straightforward pipeline from your content to agent answers:
Publish bites
You create and publish bites as usual. No extra steps needed.
Automatic indexing
Every published bite is analyzed, transcript, topics, and timestamps are indexed into a searchable knowledge base.
AI agents query Expert
Your AI agents call Expert via the MCP server or REST API with a natural language query.
Structured video results
Expert returns relevant bite segments with video titles, URLs, transcript excerpts, and timestamps. Your agent uses these to craft its response.
What gets indexed
When you publish a bite, Expert automatically extracts and indexes the following:
- Full transcript, every word spoken, including TTS narration and captions.
- Topics and tags, the subject metadata associated with each bite.
- Visual content, chapter titles, on-screen text, and scene context.
- Timestamps, so results link directly to the relevant moment in the video.
- Bite metadata, title, description, and slug for generating source links.
Indexing is fully automatic. You don’t need to configure anything, just keep publishing bites, and Expert’s knowledge grows with your library.
Where Expert connects
Expert provides two protocols for connecting your AI agents. The same knowledge base powers all of them.
MCP Server
Model Context Protocol server for AI-native integrations. Connect Claude, Salesforce Agentforce, and any MCP-compatible agent directly.
REST API
Three endpoints for search, video details, and listing. Works with Intercom Fin, Zendesk AI, and any tool that makes HTTP requests.
Intercom / Zendesk
Configure Custom Actions to call Expert's REST API. Your support agents get video-backed answers for customer questions.
Claude / Anthropic Agents
Register Expert as an MCP tool source. Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and managed agents get direct access to your video knowledge.
30-bite minimum
Expert requires at least 30 published bites before it activates. Below that threshold, the index is too thin to produce reliable results, and most queries would return empty.
While below the threshold, you can still configure Expert and create API keys in your dashboard. Once you cross 30 published bites, Expert starts returning results to connected agents automatically.
Why 30? This is the point where the index reaches critical mass, enough coverage that Expert can confidently handle the majority of queries your agents will receive. Read more in Minimum published bites.
